A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

London B VS Sussex B (Away)

Inter CountySussex B 13 – London B 31

We are now getting into the final straight for this season and our goal is very much in site. Heading down to Brighton to play Sussex we knew we needed a good win to cement our lead at the top of the region. Other results went our way with Surrey losing to Berkshire and a solid performance from ourselves means we have a good cushion going into the final two games of the regional season.

You would think by getting to 31 frames we would be delighted, don’t get me wrong I am happy with the result but the good thing is we could have scored even more. A few players more had chances to get 4-4 and a couple were below par for the day. Overall to get 31 frames at any away venue is a good result, all of the team did well today and I felt the support was very good. Not too loud but just the right encouragement at the right time.

Performances on an individual level were very good overall, Ian suffered on the day and I feel Chris Yates is still getting used to playing team pool again but they both showed signs of the class that they have. Robbie yet again kept up his good stats and it was nice to see Bri and Adam get 3 under their belt and hope that it will give them both a push them towards their early season form.

Tony, Paul, Kyle and Chris Snyman were solid all afternoon, we expect players like these to be getting 3 or 4 wins every month. Last year Chris played in the C team the majority of the time, this year he has become a regular starter and hopefully he can continue living up to these raised expectation levels. With Kyle, Paul and Tony you know what you are going to get, they are solid players and won’t give anything away.

This leads me onto our 2 star performers, Rob Chalmers and Michael Brown. Rob had a little bit of a nervy start in his first frame but after that he settled nicely and did well to get his 4-4. Michael is playing with a lot of confidence at the moment and in particular he played a nice swerve shot to secure a frame. It was a hard decision but I will go with Michael for man of the match, he looked very relaxed all day and that calm attitude can be very important to a team when matches are tight.

As for the Captain and Vice Captain, we took a backseat on the day. John had to go and help the kippers (only joking Rupe) we may do something similar at Hampshire away. The main priority now is making sure no complacency sets in and we get good results in our last two fixtures.

Stephen Wallace
London B Team Vice Captain

Stats for the day:
Rob Chalmers 4-4
Kyle Merrigan 3-4
Chris Snyman 3-4
Michael Brown 4-4
Paul McHale 3-4
Ian Clarke 0-3
Chris Yates 2-4
Tony Bailey 3-4
Adam Coppen 3-4
Robbie Robb 2-4
Bri Chudasama 3-4
Stephen Wallace 1-1

good report there steve , well captained on the day.
and well done yourself for getting 100%.
i was always watching throughout the match , and some of the same people that were making mistakes in the second half of the season continued to make them on sunday aswell. not as often but a few here and there were creeping in .
relax boys , enjoy these last 2 matches , i know everyone one of the 15 are fighting for the 13 places for yarmouth . but if you dont relax, it might backfire on you.
i am well pleased with the performance overall and the result.
you can guarantee the other B team regions in the country are standing up and taking notice of us .
