The Doctor to Jerry T after being handed an Interleague team shirt with “Doc” rather than “The Doctor” written on the back: “Do I look like one of the seven f**king dwarves?”

A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

A Team Report: London vs Kent 09/08

Inter CountyLondon A 24 - 20 Kent

A bit of a close one for a change. Maybe not a bad thing.

The start was a bit chaotic with 2 players being late which forced
last-minute changes. Big thanks to the other team captains for being
quick in their co-operation. I didn't see the first 2 frames as a
result but the England pair of Neil Toms and Danny Miller put us
2-0 up and although it was close at one point we were never behind
from then on.

We scraped the first 2 sets 6-5 each. While Kent have a few superb
players the strength in depth isn't what it used to be. But still,
they took out some nice finishes and put us under a bit of pressure.
I'm not sure if the team were feeling it as much as I was but they
responded well under tricky circumstances.

Winning the third set 7-4 put us within touching distance of the
winning line, and we were able to get there in time to lose 5 of the
last 6 frames and still win (not that we want to get into the habit of
doing that).

Danny may have been a bit lucky to win one of his frames but
overall was fully deserving of his 4/4 which'll keep him top of the
regional rankings. Mark Thrussell, Jack Pople, and myself managed 3.
Credit also to Etienne who was dropped halfway through the previous
match and was late (miscommunication problems) for this one so only
got 2 frames again - but he won them both with some solid pool.

Surrey only managed to beat Sussex 25-19, so we're still 43 points
ahead at the top of the region. Next month we follow them to Sussex's
new venue in Brighton.
