A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

LATEST MATCH REPORTS...

The B team Smashes Sussex

Inter CountyWell lads , where do I start?!

How about , " I told you so." Lol

A few people were worried when Surrey beat Sussex in their last match 31-13 and I said don't panic boys we will smash Sussex as well to get us back up there. I know how good you boys are and how good you can be and are going to be.

The performance against Sussex was even better than I expected and really shows how much damage we can inflict on teams when we're firing. And firing we were.

We started the match with our number 1 and 2 players surprisingly losing both their opening games for us to go 2-0 down. Then came the captain (that's me lol) to get us of the mark , followed by Rob Chalmers and Tony Bailey (both back from the C team) getting wins to get us in front and then on came Michael Brown who decided he couldn't let the team down and drove back from Bristol that morning to play. He won also and we never looked back from there.

The first set being our worst of the match actually only winning it 7-4, but from being 2-0 down and then winning 7 of the next 9 showed how confident the team are and it will take a lot more that that for our heads to drop.

We then go into pile driving mode and win the next 2 sets 9-2 followed by a 10-1 final set which Tony Bailey was unlucky not to make it 11-0 for his 4/4 for the match.

On an individual note, Jamie Fay and Kyle Merrigan showed their experience and never let their heads drop after losing the opening frames by winning their remaining frames.

Rob Chalmers and Tony Bailey showed that they were back in the B team to stay by some very commanding performances. Michael Brown gave yet again another solid performance with yet another 3/4. Steve Wallace is now back on track towards playing like he can and I think his new position in the team is now a done deal, 2 or 3 pints by the time he plays and he's sorted! Robbie Robb started of his first half of the match very nervously and then picked himself up for the 2nd half after he relaxed. Joe Cunningham for some reason was nervous throughout the whole match but managed to take out a nice finish in the last set to avoid being the first London B team player this year to get a dreaded nil out of 4.

Man of the Match

I cant decide to be honest , so I'm going for a joint MOM this time - Brijesh Chudasama and Adam Coppen. Both players seemed to enjoy the day and enjoy their pool, both getting 4/4. As for Tony Bailey, I think if Tony had won his last frame and played as well in that one as he had in the previous 3, it would of been him.

What a joy it is to have such a hard job to pick a Man of the Match when I have so many players that play well. This on top of the fact that we lost Etienne to the A team and had players like Paul McHale playing for the C team waiting in the wings to return.

But let's not get complacent lads , these teams will be stronger at home and be up for the return leg after the beating they just took.

And with Surrey only beating Berkshire 24-20 things are looking even sweeter.
