London v Berkshire B Team Report
On an individual level, very below par performances from Paul McHale, Steve Wallace and Rob Chalmers, all 3 will admit they could of and should of done better and I have every confidence in their ability and know they will step to the plate in the future.
A very impressive and steady like a rock performances from Michael Brown and Darren Baker, both getting 3/4 and with Robbie Robb having put last years bad performances behind him also started the new year an also impressive 3/4.
New additions to the squad Jamie Fay, given to us by the A team, put in a good performance getting 2/4 and was unlucky not to get more. And that aside, his physical presence, cheering and supporting the team was great and made for a great atmosphere. Reminded me of the great Brian Evans and what he used to bring to the team. England U21 trialists Joe Cunningham and Adam Coppen both also put in solid performances and didnt show one bit of nerves that I actually expected to see. They more than held their own, and proved that they deserved their places. If they play like that in their trials, I see no reason why both of them shouldnt qualify to represent London in the England u21's team.
MOM has to without question go to 4/4 man Kyle Merrigan who was in my opinion head and shoulders above the rest of the team with his composure and no fear attitude in every frame, with performances like that he will probably be snapped up by the A team.
With Kent winning 29-15 and Surrey by the same score as us, we lie 2nd in the table . Every county has got stronger this year and we are in for a hard fought season, but with the team spirit we showed today and the bond we seemed to of already found, I'm really looking forward to it.
Well done lads, onwards and upwards from here on in.
