LATEST MATCH REPORTS...
KENT A 23 V 21 LONDON A
Our third away match of the season and our third defeat, once again by the narrowest of margins, 23 v 21.
We started slowly, falling 3 v 1 behind and losing the first set 6 v 5, but worse was to come in the second set with Kent hammering us 8 v 3 for a 14 v 8 half time lead. They then won 3 out of the next 4 frames to lead 17 v 9 before London A finally started to get into the match, winning 6 of the next 7 frames to trail 18 v 15 going into the last set.
Two more wins then brought us within a frame of our opponents, and in truth we could have gone on to win the match, but it wasn't to be and Kent got over the line at 23 v 19 before London took the last 2 frames.
We were generally a little lacklustre (and occasionally unhelpful) with our support and at times poor shot selection and perhaps a lack of composure cost us crucial frames. Having said that 8 out of the 11 London players still won 2 out of their 4 frames but clear man of the match for the second time this season was Jordan O'Connor with another 4 out of 4 (8 out of 8 against Kent)!!
Despite this defeat Gt. Yarmouth qualification is still in our own hands but a home win against Hampshire next month is now absolutely essential.
Stats:
Joe Prince 2/4
Dave Rawlinson 2/4
Alex Lawrence 0/4
Danny Moffatt 2/4
Tony Gear 2/4
Nigel Smith 2/4
Jordan O'Connor 4/4
Jerry Tickell 2/4
Robbie Robb 2/4
Andy Breen 1/4
Rupert Ward 2/4
