Junior Team Report: Surrey 32-12 London

Inter CountyI'd be lying if I said that a 32-12 loss against Surrey was anything other than disappointing. However, we are a team that is re-building having lost Nigel Clarke and Frank Costello to the A team and with that has gone a pretty much nailed on 8 frames each match. That said, we need to draw some positives from this defeat and it was very encouraging to see Stephen Kelly make his London debut with an excellent 3 from 4 frames. He was desperately unlucky not to win his final frame. Other players winning 2 frames were Luke Thompson, Ollie Lawrence, Liam Clancy and a poorly Jordan O'Connor.

I'll be looking to see as many players as possible turning up to the team practices which will be from 12 to 2 on the day before each match. Where possible there will be an additional practice on the Saturday of the weekend before each match also from 12 until 2. The next practice is on 12th March. The practice session is free for squad members and A team regular Sean Halligan will be on hand to provide coaching. Those who came on Saturday all said it was very worthwhile.

I believe that if we all get behind each other on match days and put in the practice in between we will improve as a team and see some results this year. As a team and as individuals you need to believe that too.
