A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

Surrey C 24 - London C 20

Inter CountySurrey C 24 – London C 20
Well, we still can’t win on the road. Surrey avenged our win over them at the start of the season with a comfortable enough victory, although we made a fight of it towards the end after they went on a streak and got out of sight at the turn.

Attendance was a bit shabby this month – eight regular C players turned up and then a ninth came in a bit late. Fortunately we had two players down from the Bs and benefitted from Frank as a loan from the juniors. Frank was up first and was duly broke-dished – indeed, this was a tasty Surrey team, they knocked in five break-dishes in total in the match. One of their players got two BDs and also a dish of a dry-break. Very solid. Still we stayed with them for the first quarter, and then they raced ahead – 11-9 became 16-9 and then 20-13. They quickly got the two they needed for the draw but we showed some strength to pull it back to 22-19 before they got over the finishing line.

Stonesey gets C team MOTM with 3 from 4. Frank also made 3 from 4 and so did Will, on loan from the Bs. Darren, Michael, Jeremy, and Johnny M all picked up 2 from 4. Peter Mac, Patrick and Colin – three of our most solid players – played below par for 1 from 4 each. Paul was winless from 2 and Kevin came on and barely had a shot as he lost his 2.

We’re back at home in August against Kent so let’s make sure we get a good turnout and put in another solid home performance, to get our season back on track.

Thanks to everyone who paid Debs their outstanding dues today. Those of you who missed the game today and still owe money, please make sure you pay up before the next match.

Darren,
thanks for the report. Always nice to be reminded of one's losses!! Still, I think we should have played a stronger game than we did. Surrey definitely had the run of the cloth, and we suffered accordingly.
So, next is Kent.

For our benefit I surfed the websites and garnered this info:

C Teams (W/F/Pts)
KEN 6 151 181
SUR 4 147 167
LON 3 134 149
BER 3 130 145
HAN 1 118 123
SUX 1 112 117

So we're a little adrift now, but it's never too late to take up the good fight. So let's move past team performances in Croydon and South Africa, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Capt. Darren 'Capello' O'Byrne.
