A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

  2021 GLCPA Interleague KO Cup
by: Cocked-Hat, 02-10-2021 11:31 AM (#1)

GLCPA are now making plans to get the 2021 Interleague KO Cup underway.

This year it's all about getting our players some form of competitive pool and relaxing rules a little to make sure this happens successfully.

13 Teams (all existing teams from 2020) have agreed to enter.
Two dates have been proposed to complete this competition with the EPA calendar and WRPT tours making available dates tight.
Friday 22nd October preliminary round
Sunday 14th November KO Cup finals event

The top 3 teams from the last completed season will gain automatic entry into the KO Cup proper (SLKPA, Waterloo and Battersea A).
10 remaining teams compete in the preliminary round via an open draw which will be played on a Friday evening in a 27 frame match, race to 14 frames with the winners progressing to the KO Cup proper, whilst the losers obviously depart.
Teams will be drawn either at home or away, just like a usual Interleague league match, with the only difference is that the match will end once a team reaches 14 frames.
This will provide 8 teams to compete on Sunday 14th November starting at 1pm with the usual format that GLCPA have used for quite a few years now, of 2 groups of 4 teams.

In 2021 the rules are relaxed. Players will not be required to EPA register to play in the event.
GLCPA ask that teams are only made up of players that play within your respective league to ensure fair play.
Players that played for teams in 2020 are free to play for a different team in 2021, but once a player plays in 2021 for a team they won't be permitted to change teams (or leagues).
Therefore team captains are free to select any player currently playing in your league, or playing within the league pre Covid if your league hasn't started yet.

The preliminary draw will be done on Facebook live so that anyone who wishes to witness it can do so.

It is likely that successful teams in this event will go forward as GLCPA representatives at the National Interleague Finals in early April 2022.

As things need to happen sooner rather than later I the Preliminary Round draw will be made on live on Facebook (Paul Gafa's page) this Sunday at 8pm 3rd October.

Please spread the word.

Your team captain/league representative has been provided full details should you require more info.
You can't hurry a craftsman.
