LONDON A 24 V 20 SURREY A

Inter CountyAfter comfortably beating us 27 v 17 on the opening day of the season Surrey must have been hoping to inflict a first home defeat on an improving London team. They started off brightly enough, racing into a 3 v 0 lead before London responded with 6 in a row and we shaded the first set 6 v 5.

The second set also went our way 6 v 5 for a 12 v 10 half time lead. 4 frames in a row at the start of the third set gave us a commanding 16 v 10 lead and we also took this set 7 v 4, to lead 19 v 14.

Surrey rallied to win the final set 6 v 5 but couldn't prevent a London win, Robbie Robb taking out an excellent finish to secure the points with a couple of frames remaining.24 v 20. An important win that sees us move into second place in the regional table.

Dave Rawlinson won 3 out of 4, including a couple of top class clearances. Jack Pople, Danny Moffatt and Jordan O'Connor also won 3 each but London's man of the match was Andy Breen, winning 4 out of 4 on only his second match back.
