The Doctor to Jerry T after being handed an Interleague team shirt with “Doc” rather than “The Doctor” written on the back: “Do I look like one of the seven f**king dwarves?”

A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

W18-19 Founders Cup Q/Final match reports

Allstars still on for the double

This week the South London & Kent Pool Alliance returned to cup action and the quarter-finals of The Founder’s Cup, with six teams from the Premier Division and two from the second division still competing.

Newly crowned champions of Division Two, Bexleyheath Working Man’s Club had not lost a game in the league or cup this season, but the draw pitted them against the current Premier Division leaders, Allstars so it was going to be their toughest match so far.

They started the match the better, taking a shock, 3-2 lead in the first set, but the Allstars quality showed in the second set, whitewashing it, 5-0 to leave just one more frame for victory.

Dave Jandu won his second frame of the night to keep Bexleyheath in the match, but Ritchie Mitchell won the next frame, his third of the night to put Allstars through to the next round with an, 8-4 triumph.

As well as Mitchell, Allstars Stacy Redman was also unbeaten on a brace.

Bexleyheath can be proud of their achievement, as some Premier Division sides haven’t scored four against Allstars this season.

Allstars go into the hat for the semi-finals, still on course for the league and cup double, but it is unlikely Hotshots will be preventing them from doing either of those, as they are still 15 points behind them in the league and were knocked out of the cup this week.

Hotshots played hosts to third placed Eltham Terrace Club A, who had suffered a couple of defeats recently, but they bounced back and put themselves into the semi-final, with an, 8-6 victory.

Third place in Division Two, New Eltham New Boys, played Sharks, who were in Division Two themselves just two seasons ago, as a fledgling team just like New Boys are now.

That little bit of extra experience showed as Sharks ran out, 8-3 winners to make the semi-finals an all Premier Division affair.

The last quarter-final was a battle between the two bottom teams in the top division, Pickwick and Eltham Terrace Nuthouse.

Pickwick replaced Nuthouse on the bottom last week, but they got off to a better start, taking a, 3-2 lead in the first set.

Nuthouse fought back and got their noses in front at, 5-4 however, four unanswered frames from Pickwick put them past the winning post, by 8 frames to 5.

Nuthouse wished they had a Paul in their side, as it was the three Pauls who won the match for Pickwick, with Slater scoring a brace and Gafa and Dawson both winning all three of their frames.

So Allstars, Eltham Terrace Club A, Sharks and Pickwick will battle out the semi-final in a months time on the 14 March.
