The Doctor to Jerry T after being handed an Interleague team shirt with “Doc” rather than “The Doctor” written on the back: “Do I look like one of the seven f**king dwarves?”

A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

Red hot Redders fires Allstars to top of SLKPA Elite League

The South London & Kent Pool Alliance has new Elite League leaders this week, after third placed, Allstars beat the team above them, Eltham Terrace Club A to leapfrog both them and the league leaders, Hotshots into top spot.

Despite the, 3-0 & 10-5 defeat, Dave Rawlinson was in top form for Terrace, winning all three of his frames including a break and dish.

However, Allstars were imperious and it was a night of total clearances with Paul Cook and Tony Halpin both winning two of their three frames with Cook’s including a dish from a dry break and Halpin’s a break and dish.

But it was Stacy Redman who was on top of his game, winning all three of his frames which included a dish from a dry break to help put Allstars top of the table by one point.

They’ve taken over from Hotshots, who after losing their first match this season last week, made it two in a row against fifth placed Hustlers Simply Lovleh.

It was a great start from Simply Lovleh, taking the first set, 4-1 as Hotshots threw away some silly frames but they recovered and won the second set, 3-2 after being, 2-1 down.

Simply Lovleh had a, 6-4 lead going into the final set, but it was all square in sets, so all to play for but Simply Lovleh won the first two frames of the set to secure the bonus point and they went on to take the final set, 3-2 for an overall, 2-1 & 9-6 triumph.

This result puts Simply Lovleh three points ahead of the bottom two, but they have played one game more.

Pickwick continue their rise up the table and are now fourth after beating Eltham Terrace Rovers, who have been heading in the opposite direction.

The first two sets went to Pickwick, amassing a, 7-3 lead but Rovers won the first four frames of the final set to tie the score at seven all.

The final frame decider was an awkward affair, but Joe Kane eventually took it for his hat-trick to give Pickwick the, 2-1 & 8-7 victory.

Pickwick are now four points behind Eltham Terrace Club A in third and five points ahead of their opponents in sixth.

It was bottom against top in SLKPA Tier Three, as Real Hustlers played hosts to New Eltham Club and the result was never in doubt with the top team winning each set, 4-1 for a, 3-0 & 12-3 victory.

It was a great all-round team performance, led by team captain, Jeff Bailey and Graham Levingbird, both scoring unbeaten hat-tricks with Jamie Phillips also unbeaten on two frame wins.

Paul Cobbold won two of his three frames with Shane Burnett and Gary Mason picking up the other frame wins.

This victory means they are now nine games unbeaten for the season and have opened up a five point gap at the top of the table.

The teams in equal second played each other this week to see who would be second outright.

Both Academicals and Bexleyheath Working Mans Club have been in great form of late, so it was a surprise that Bexleyheath won it so easily, taking all of the first ten frames.

Bexleyheath must have taken their foot off the gas in the final set, just edging it, 3-2 for an overall, 3-0 & 13-2 triumph.

So, Bexleyheath hold onto second but Academicals drop to fourth, after New Eltham Social Club racked up a, 3-0 & 11-4 victory over Lord Kitchener.

The damage was done in the first and third sets, which they won, 4-1, to sandwich the middle set’s, 3-2 win.

Sixth played fifth as Red Barn took on Happy Hustlers but there was no change in the table as the points were shared, after Hustlers won in sets, 2-1 but Red Barn scored more frames, 8-7.

Behind New Eltham at the top it’s still a close run thing, as four points separate the next three teams, while Lord Kitchener and Real Hustlers are fighting it out for the wooden spoon, with five points between them.

It was also bottom against top in SLKPA Tier Two West, with Bellegrove Superstars taking on Sharks.

The match started off quite close, as Sharks narrowly took it, 3-2 with Jason Brunton and Keith Smith winning Superstars’ two frames but they wouldn’t win another frame all evening, as Sharks whitewashed the next two sets, 5-0 to triumph by 3 sets to 0 and 13 frames to 2.

Eno Idiong, Rahat Munim, Chris Mackenzie and Kevin Dempsey were all unbeaten, winning both their frames but Vu Son stood out, with a hat-trick.

Rose Inn look to be the only ones fighting Sharks for the championship, as they are now just two points behind them and six points ahead of third.

It was a very tight game against Fox & Hounds, where both teams played well, and each set was won by the odd frame, 3-2.

Rose Inn took the first set and then the second set after going, 2-1 down before taking a, 2-0 lead in the final set, only for Fox to level the score and send the set into a final frame decider.

It was down to the captains, Neil Mundy and Kerry Wyatt to battle it out, with Mundy holding his nerve to give Rose maximum points, with a, 3-0 & 9-6 triumph.

Alan Dolan and Clive Forrest won two of their three frames for Fox, who felt they deserved something from the game.

Leighton Aston was the only unbeaten player on the night, winning all three of his frames.

Woolwich Wolfpack stay in third, seven points ahead of their opponents, Crayford Social Club Rugrats.

The first set swung both ways before Wolfpack eventually took it, 3-2 and they went on to win the first three frames of the second set to take a two set and, 6-2 lead but Rugrats pulled it back to, 6-4.

Wolfpack earned the bonus point in frame thirteen, but Rugrats took the last two frames for the set, making the overall score, 2-1 & 8-7 in Wolfpack’s favour.

Danny Kent won all three of his frames for Wolfpack, as did Dafydd Rufell on his Rugrats debut.

Royal Oak have had a great week, beating the top two teams in SLKPA Tier Two East in the same week but they remain in third, two points behind North Heath Social Club in second and four points behind top of the table, New Eltham.

They had a tough time in last week’s unfinished match against North Heath but did the damage in the first set, winning it by 4 frames to 1.

North Heath took a, 2-1 lead in the second set but let Royal Oak back in to take it, 3-2 and if that wasn’t enough they let a, 2-0 lead slip in the final set, giving Royal Oak a, 3-0 & 10-5 triumph.

Aaron Duke won his only frame for Royal Oak and team mate Phil Tworek scored an unbeaten hat-trick.

Two tough games in a week for Royal Oak ended in two victories, after they also beat New Eltham, 2-1 & 9-6.

Royal Oak won the first set, 3-2 and went on to take the second, 4-1 but New Eltham pulled one back in the final set, edging it, 3-2.

Unusually every New Eltham player chipped in with one frame win, but Steve Heather and Paul Clements won the majority of Royal Oak’s, with Heather winning all three frames and Clements two out of three, which included a break and dish.

After two wins in a row Bellegrove A have fell back to Earth with a bang, going down, 3-0 & 12-3 to North Heath.

Bellegrve didn’t do themselves any favours by only having four players but young Jack Taylor continues to be their shining light, winning two of his team’s three frames.

Eltham Terrace Rack Pack bounced back from last week’s defeat against Bellegrove with a, 3-0 & 10-5 triumph against CSC Mr’s & Miss Q’s.

CSC also only had four players and Rack Pack made it count in the first set, taking it, 4-1, going on to win the second set, 3-2.

The first four frames of the final set were shared, so the missing player proved crucial, giving Rack Pack the final set by 3 frames to 2.

Chris Whiteside and Luke Matthews won all of CSC’s frames, with Whiteside scoring a hat-trick and Matthews two out of three.

Chris Unwin returned to competitive pool for Rack Pack and won two of his three frames and he was joined by Fred O’Connor and Alex Dobbins, but Tony Frost was unbeaten, winning all three frames, albeit two of them from byes.

Rack Pack are still fifth in the table, four points ahead of Bellegrove and only one behind their opponents.
