Sass to Dr O after watching him finally fall over the line in a county frame - I'd give you a high five - but you'd miss!

A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

  S17 week 13 match reports
by: Cocked-Hat, 05-08-2017 10:44 AM (#1)

We have come to the penultimate week in the South London Pool Alliance League and in Tier East Bellegrove Flyers edged two points clear of their play-off rivals with 2-1 victory over Eltham Terrace Rack Pack.

Bellegrove Flyers travelled there, on a run of winning their last 5 and Rack Pack triumphant in their last 3, looked an interesting encounter.

Keith Mitchell and Paul Dawson started off in their usual fashion both gaining wins getting Flyers off to good start.

Flyers went on to take the first set 4-1 and repeated the second set by same score to put them 2-0 up in sets.

In the third set the Rack Pack came alive and went on to win set 3-2 Graham Levingbird winning his second of the night and Tony Frost's first of the night rounded off by Stngray.

Both Graham Levingbird/ Stingray won 2/3 for the Rack Pack, but it was the Flyers Keith Mitchell /Paul Dawson 3/3 and Richard Marsh winning his solitary frame.

This now puts the Flyers 2 points clear of their rival North Heath who they play in final game away next week.

Elsewhere in Tier 2 East Falconwood had a convincing win over Rose Inn 3-0 (12-3) winning each set 4-1 Gary Mason/Dan Brown both undefeated on the night.

CSC Mr & Mrs Q’s lost 8-7 against Foots Cray but won 2-1 in sets so shared the points on the night.

In the Elite League It was all change at the top with Eltham Terrace Rovers beating the top of the table Hotshots 1-2 (8-7).

Ryan Francis 3/3 and break and dish in set 1 to win the set and also won deciding frame 15 for a Rovers win.

Last set frames were shared Connor Hewson took the Hotshots to a 2-1 lead after a tactical frame then Tony Wilson played Dean Rider which Dean sunk the black to take the scores 7-7.

Last frame was Robbie Robb versus Ryan Francis which Ryan cleared to take the match.

Special mentions on the night for Richard Chapman and Ian Ali who both won 2/3.

But this let the Falconwood get back to the summit when they beat Bellegrove Social Club 3-0 (9-6).

Bellegrove’s Jason Brunton won 3/3.

This now gives the Falconwood a one point lead at the top.

Eltham Terrace A gained a walkover against the Falconwood Club to go third after 3-0 (12-0) default score.

Royal Oak went down 0-3 (5-10) against the Falcons with Nikki Steadman and Tony Gear winning 3/3 for the Falcons.

Steve Heather 2/2 and Aaron Duke 1/1 for the Oak.

Finally in Tier West it still remains 1 point difference between the top two.

Eltham Terrace Nuthouse won 2-1 (10-5) away to Bellegrove A to get 3 points.

Nuthouse found themselves 2-1 down in the first set but recovered to take the set 3-2.

The Bellegrove's Serhat Bulbul broke and dished in the second set then frames from Pat Melia and John Skuza secured the point for the Bellegrove to level at 1-1 (5-5).

But Nuthouse stormed to last set taking it 5-0 to win the match and gain 3 points on the night.

Louis Willbourne 3/3 Craig Jones, Shane O’Reilly and Dave Sparey all won 2/3 aided Nuthouse to victory.

But it was the same score for their nearest challengers the Sharks as they took a 2-1 (8-7) win to beat Crayford Rugrats to also gain 3 points.

So it's as you were still 1 point gap going into final game next week.

Hustlers B gained 4 points with 3-0 (11-4) away at the Fox and Hounds.

They won 4-1, 3-2 and 4-1 which now draws them level with 3rd place Rugrats.

Next week’s match against them will now be winner takes all for third spot.

Trevor Biggs had a break and dish in 9th frame and Joe Kane and Jason Gallagher both finished with 3/3.

Finally the bottom two met and it was all square as the points were shared with Academicals winning 2-1 but the Happy Hustlers winning 7-8 in games.
